The CISA and Department of Energy gain new cybersecurity veterans. CISOs Connect names a new president.

Information technology management company Accenture appointed Paolo Dal Cin as global head of Accenture Security and as a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee. Dal Cin has been with the company since 2003 and most recently led security teams in Europe. 

David Cass, former lead regulator at the Federal Reserve of New York, was named president of CISOs Connect, an exclusive network for cybersecurity executives. In his new position, Cass will be responsible for facilitating peer management efforts and ensuring that resources are catered to their executives.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) hired Bob Lord as senior technical advisor within its cybersecurity division. Lord joins CISA from the Democratic National Committee where he worked as the chief security officer. 

The Department of Energy has appointed Emery Csulak, formerly its principal deputy chief information officer, as its chief data officer. 

Exegy, a technology provider for capital markets, hired Alan Meirzon as chief information officer. Meirzon brings years of experience in financial services, and comes to Exergy from Deutsche Bank where he was director within the chief information security office. 

Blackbaud, a nonprofit software company, hired Charles Miller as its new chief information security officer. Miller comes to Blackbaud from Truist where he worked as its vice president of cybersecurity. 

Lumen Technologies, a telecommunications firm, hired former Washington State chief information security officer Vinod Brahmapuram as its chief information security officer. 

National Security Veteran Alexander Gates Joins Shift5 as Chief Research  Officer — Shift5

Shift5, an operational technology cybersecurity company, hired Alexander Gates as chief research officer. Gates will be responsible for efficiently distributing security information, managing the threat research portfolio, and product security strategies. Gates has previously led critical infrastructure cybersecurity initiatives for the federal government, bringing a relevant perspective to this position.

Insurance company Vantage Group Holdings Ltd. hired Andrew Lea as Senior Vice President of Cyber Liability, Technology E&O, Media and Management Professional Liability Insurance. Lea most recently he served as CNA Insurance’s Head of Commercial E&O, Cyber & Media Liability Underwriting in Chicago. 

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee hired Rose Lee as vice president and chief information security officer. Lee was formerly the director of threat management and security at Baycare Health System.

SafeGuard Cyber, a cybersecurity and compliance solution provider, appointed Paul von Autenried as board advisor. Von Autenried previously served as the executive vice president and chief information officer at Bristol Myers Squibb, a pharmaceutical company.

Meta Materials, a producer of functional and automated materials, hired George Francis as chief information officer. Francis previously worked as the senior director of IT shared services and cybersecurity for Domtar Inc., a producer of fiber-based materials.
